Beth
Walker
As a candidate for Justice of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia in 2008, Beth Walker combined a clear conservative voice and a passion for judicial fairness and integrity with almost two decades of legal experience.  Since beginning the practice of law in 1990 at Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love LLP, where she is now a partner, she has earned the respect of her clients, colleagues and adversaries.
Beth's legal experience is broad and extensive.  She has represented a wide variety of clients in state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, throughout West Virginia.  She has also provided pro bono legal services for individuals and nonprofit organizations.  The excellence of Beth’s skills as a lawyer have been recognized by her being included in Best Lawyers in America, published by Woodward/White.  She is also listed in America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, published by Chambers USA.
A 1987 summa cum laude graduate of Hillsdale College, Beth earned her law degree in 1990 from The Ohio State University, where she was Articles Editor for The Ohio State Law Journal.   Beth currently serves on the Alumni Executive Board of Hillsdale College.
Beth is a devoted wife and stepmom who is active in her community and church. For almost a decade, she has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Girl Scouts.  She is the past board president of the Kanawha Pastoral Counseling Center, which provides faith-based counseling services regardless of an individual's ability to pay.
Although she did not ultimately prevail in the extremely close race for the Supreme Court in 2008, Beth remains committed to a bright future for West Virginia.  As a graduate of Leadership West Virginia and now a board member for that group, she believes that we all can contribute to supporting the growth and development of jobs and opportunities in our communities and state.
Beth is married to Mike Walker, Executive Vice President of Cecil I. Walker Machinery Co., a family-owned company that distributes construction equipment.  They reside in South Charleston and in Morgantown, where Mike is currently attending law school at West Virginia University.
