Harrison
Former State Senator Steve Harrison was born in Kanawha County and graduated from Sissonville High School.  He graduated from Brown University with a triple concentration of Economics, Political Science and Organizational Behavior & Management.  As a college football player, Harrison was a District 1 Academic All-American and a member of the Ivy League Senior All-Stars in the 1989 Epson Ivy Bowl.
Harrison served in the State Senate until 2006, when he did not seek reelection. Prior to being elected to the Senate in 2002, he served 5 terms in the West Virginia House of Delegates.  At the time he left the legislature, Harrison was the longest-serving Republican legislator in the history of Kanawha County.
He has worked in the banking industry for more than 18 years and is currently Vice President/Public Relations at a West Virginia community bank.  Harrison is also serving as a part-time Assistant Track & Field Coach at a NCAA Division II college for the 2009 season.  He and his wife, Kristen, a hospice social worker, live in Cross Lanes.  
Harrison has stayed active in politics since leaving the State Senate and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2008.
